Inter-row agrivoltaics: energy and olive oil from the same hectare
Super-intensive olive growing between the rows of photovoltaic panels: an integrated supply chain combining renewable energy and extra virgin olive oil.
Two technical layouts available
Our plants integrate photovoltaic generation with super-intensive olive growing. The layout is selected according to the site and to the agronomic and energy objectives.
Super-intensive cultivation (SHD)
The Oxy EOS model is based on super-intensive (SHD — Super High Density) olive growing, with cultivars selected to suit high-density planting: trees with limited vegetative vigour, compact habit and early entry into production, enabling large-scale mechanised harvesting. In projects already under way the Lecciana cultivar is used, for example. Production is geared towards high-quality extra virgin olive oil, with an estimated average yield of approximately 0.8 litres per tree at full capacity — based on the experience gained in managing more than 1,500 hectares of super-intensive olive groves and on the technical support of Agromillora, a leading partner in the nursery sector.
Typical planting layout: 3x1.33x2.5. Approximately 1,350 trees per gross hectare.
Typical planting layout: 6.5x1.5x2.5. Approximately 1,000 trees per gross hectare.
